About the Chris Long Foundation

The mission of The Chris Long Foundation is to support bright futures for communities and the individuals that make up those communities.
We believe borders do not limit caring about our fellow neighbors. We engage in both international and domestic programs focused around clean water, military appreciation, homelessness and youth. Our programs strive to generate impactful results by creating opportunities and providing resources, financial support and meaningful experiences to those we serve.



Chris Long was born to Diane and Pro Football Hall of Famer Howie Long.


Chris’ brother and fellow pro footballer, Kyle Long, was born. Kyle is now entering his fourth season with the Chicago Bears.


Chris’ youngest brother, Howie Long, Jr., was born. He is currently a player personnel executive with the Oakland Raiders.


Chris began his college football career with the University of Virginia.


The University of Virginia retired Chris’ jersey, #91.


Chris was drafted by the St. Louis Rams.


Chris married his wife, Megan.


Chris climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. During his climb, he was struck by the beauty of Tanzania and the vibrancy of its people, but also witnessed great suffering due to a lack of clean water.


Chris Long started the Waterboys initiative to benefit WorldServe, an organization that builds clean water wells for the people of Tanzania.


Chris Long was named the Rams’ Walter Payton Man of the Year in recognition of his community involvement and service to others.


To create an enduring outlet for his charitable work, Chris established the Chris Long Foundation.


Chris signed with the New England Patriots.


Chris and Megan celebrated the birth of their first child.


The New England Patriots won Super Bowl 51.


Chris Long signed a two-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on his 32nd birthday.


The Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl 52.


Chris Long Retires from NFL to focus on accelerating the Chris Long Foundation Mission
